✦ For Parents & Families

Your child deserves the right literacy tutor.

From inquiry to first session in four steps.

Share their grade, reading challenges, schedule preferences, and goals. Takes about three minutes.

We find the right match

K12Launch matches your child to a tutor based on literacy level, credentials, availability, and location — online or in-person.

Your tutor assesses and plans

Your matched tutor runs a structured initial reading assessment and builds a personalized lesson plan from the first session.

Watch them grow

See your child's assessment level, session notes, and literacy milestones in your parent dashboard — no chasing updates.

Every tutor is vetted. Every plan is personalized.

Credential-Verified Specialists

Every K12Launch tutor is reviewed for literacy credentials before joining the platform. We look for OG training, LETRS certification, Wilson method, and documented reading intervention experience.

📊

Assessment-Backed Matching

Your child isn't matched based on whoever is available. Their assessment results — phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, comprehension — guide the match to a tutor with the right specialization.

🎯

Orton-Gillingham Grounded

The Orton-Gillingham approach is the gold standard for literacy intervention, especially for students with dyslexia or reading difficulties. K12Launch tutors work within this structured, evidence-based framework.

📈

Structured Progress Tracking

Progress isn't just a feeling — it's measured. Students move through four defined literacy levels. You see exactly where your child is and what they're working toward.

🗂️

Personalized Lesson Plans

Your tutor uses AI-assisted lesson planning grounded in your child's specific level and needs. No generic worksheets — every session is built for your child.

💬

Parent Visibility

Your parent dashboard shows session notes, assessment levels, and milestone completions after every session — so you're never in the dark about your child's progress.

Progress you can see. Not just hear about.

After each session, your child's tutor logs a session note and updates their assessment progress. You see it in your parent dashboard — no need to email or call for updates.

Frequently asked questions.

K12Launch tutors serve students from Pre-K through 12th grade. Our assessment framework is designed to meet students where they are — regardless of grade level.
K12Launch tutors offer both online and in-person sessions. Each tutor sets their own modality preferences. When you request a tutor, you'll tell us what you prefer and we'll match accordingly.
Each K12Launch tutor sets their own pricing. Parents pay tutors directly for their sessions — rates vary based on credentials, experience, and session type. There is no charge to parents to use the K12Launch matching service.
Orton-Gillingham (OG) is a structured, sequential approach to literacy instruction that is especially effective for students with dyslexia or reading difficulties. It teaches reading and spelling through a multisensory, phonics-based method with decades of research behind it. K12Launch tutors are trained in OG or equivalent structured literacy approaches.
Every child is different. Many families begin seeing measurable progress within 6–10 sessions. The initial assessment establishes a clear baseline, so progress is tracked objectively — not just by feeling.
We want every match to work well. If a tutor isn't the right fit, contact us and we'll work to find a better match. We'd rather get this right than have your child in a session that isn't working.
